About Me

IMG_4729Hi there!

My name is Olivia and this is my blog This Veggie Runs.  I live in the country that gave you ABBA and IKEA (Sweden). I’ve decided to take on running that will not only challenge me, but it will also motivate me to be the best that I can be.  When I lace up, I wear barefoot or minimalist shoes.

This blog will mainly be about my journey to reach my goal of being able to run 5K, but I’ll also write gear reviews and post delicious vegetarian/vegan recipes from time to time. It is equally important for me to blog about topics that will motivate and inspire runners and other readers.

Had you told me a few years ago that I would take up running I would have simply stared at you and thought you had me confused with someone else.  I couldn’t stand running. How on earth could anyone in their sanest mind enjoy running, let alone do it for fun? That was just beyond me. I could barely run for a minute without getting short of breath and every muscle in my body begged me to stop. Deep down I think I wanted to run, but I just didn’t feel inspired or motivated. Running just wasn’t fun, and my class mates and PE teacher didn’t make things better by downgrading me and finding me to be a hopeless case that didn’t seem to bother.

Then slowly something started to shift, from dislike towards interest and curiosity. I wanted to be just like some of those runners I’ve seen out there – swift, agile and graceful like gazelles. They somehow made it seem so effortless. I needed a routine and challenge in my life that I could have control over and feel like I progressed. I knew it wasn’t going to be easy, but I wanted to give it a try and do it on my terms. Step by step I’ve increased my running.  I’ve had my ups and downs, but from now on there’s no turning back.

It all starts with “believe”. You can’t live a positive life with a negative mindset, so focus on believing and discovering what it is that you want to achieve this year. You can do it!

Thank you for stopping by and I hope to see you again!

Best regards,

  1. Hi! I’m a SPA too! 🙂 It’s how I found your page, I believe. Excited to be following someone else in the group. If you have any suggestions for more good SPA blogs to follow, PLEASE let me know. I sometimes find it hard to find good blogs to follow.

Also, how did you get the pin-like SPA graphic to work? I tried copying the code into my layout (well, my original one I just switched), but no dice!

  2. Hi there Jamie!

As I’m rather new as well I’m on the lookout for SPA blogs too. Whenever I have time I try to go through some of the blogs posted on the SPA Facebook group. It’s a great place to start (if you haven’t already). You might find new favourites there. 🙂

Ah, yes the code had some errors in it so I had to modify it. Not sure if this is going to work, but try to copy this code into your blog:

    Thanks for stopping by!
